Coffee out tea in Jan 15

Day 2

Hello and welcome to day two of the Skinny Bitch lifestyle.

Hint: In an effort to avoid a major caffeine withdrawal headache I began slowly reducing my coffee intake two weeks ago. Yesterday was my official day of being coffee free. Yeah…my evil plan worked!!! No headaches.

Up at 6:00am: Woke up two times in the middle of the night to pee, which was odd. Last time that happened I was pregnant…ABSOLUTELY NOT…pregnant, must be all the fruit, veggies and tea I consumed the previous day.

Breakfast:
Decaf herbal tea
1 oz wild Alaskan blueberry drink (loaded with antioxidants)
Banana

Exercised from 6:15-7:45am

1/3 cup 100% whole grain oatmeal with sliced green apples

Lunch: (had lunch at 11:00 because I was starving)
Avocado
Organic butternut squash soup
Garden burger (plain) with tomatoes

Snack: Banana and 1 cup of veggie stix

Uncontrollable yawning kicked in at 4:30pm, so I took a 15 minute nap. The nap helped, but being able to take a nap in the afternoon is rare and not something I can normally fit into my routine.

Snack: Banana and an orange

Dinner:
Salad with tomato, carrots, lemon juice and olive oil
Organic chunky vegetable soup

Snack: 2 cups of soy beans

Please note: The Skinny Bitch book has a detailed list of food items to refer to, as well as, daily menus.

Fact: “Are you a pill popper? Do you reach for over-the counter medicine for every sniffle, sneeze, ache, and pain? Toughen up. Our bodies, when properly cared for, function as perfect machines. Our brains tell us when something is wrong by giving us pain or discomfort. When we pop pills to rid this “disease,” we are masking the symptoms without resolving the problem. Every time you take medicine, you interfere with your body’s natural ability to heal itself. You are alleviating those intelligent responses that alert you to a problem, and sending false signals to your brain. If you have a headache, you might be tired, dehydrated, or suffering from a minor food allergy.” (Skinny Bitch, 2005, Rory Freedman & Kim Barnouin, pg.18-19).

Yippee…I made it two days!!!
